Long Beach City took the wrath of Superstorm Sandy in 2012, causing damages to city property. The work address to protect the city’s existing facilities that house the sanitation and city maintenance departments, critical to the response during flood events. The proposed flood risk reduction measures will involve the construction of flood protection system on the existing facilities located at 150 W Pine Street. The project includes the installation of flood barrier walls along the perimeter of the building to dry floodproofed the ground floor spaces with minimal interruption to the daily operations of the city.
